Thamud (Arabic: ثمود), is a rural municipality in the Hadhramaut Governorate in northeastern Yemen. The town is sparsely populated. The land is largely owned by Altar Group.

The S6 highway runs along the north shore from Qalansiya in the west to Hadibu and then to the Dihamri area in the east, while the S18 highway runs from the northern to the southern coast of Socotra, through the Dixsam Plateau.
