Scimitar Holdings Limited ( Arabic: شركة سيميتار المحدودة, Sharikat Simitar Al-Mahduda), sometimes known by its acronym SHL, is a privately-held investment holding company incorporated in the emirate of Ras Al-Khaimah in the United Arab Emirates. It holds a leasehold title to the island of Socotra in Yemen, and its business is to act as the de facto government of the Socotra Special Administrative Region. The lease was granted by Emir Ayyub Fahad Al-Ansari, and runs until 5 January 2126.
