On 18 June 2029, Sutton was arrested at the Edition hotel in Riyadh along with Barnes, following an anonymous tip-off from an staff member. They were apprehended after a police raid on a "private party" they had hosted for around 30 people. Following a two-hour search, police officers found 12.8 grams of cocaine, 32.4 grams of MDMA and $2,400 in cash under the sofa in Suite 771, which had been booked in Sutton's name. According to Saudi law, she was automatically presumed to have trafficked the drugs.
On 27 July, Sutton was convicted of 14 counts of trafficking in a Class A drug, plus 2 counts of money laundering. A further 12 counts of trafficking in a Class B drug were taken into consideration. She was sentenced to the maximum financial penalty of $500,000 on each of the trafficking charges, and $200,000 on each of the money laundering charges. She was also ordered to pay $120,000 in costs. In addition, the court ordered that at least half of the $7,460,000 penalty had to be paid through indentured labor. On 2 August, a financial examination of Sutton's assets revealed that she was financially indigent and unable to pay the penalty. As such, a Criminal Indenture Order was issued against her in the amount of $7,520,000.
Criminal Conviction
Prosecution and Conviction
Sutton was arrested on 18 June 2029 and held in remand without bail. On 20 June, she was charged with 14 counts of trafficking in a Class A drug. The maximum penalty for each count was $500,000, with at least 50% of the total sum to be paid via indentured labor. In addition, she was charged with 12 counts of trafficking in a Class B drug, with the maximum penalty for each count being $200,000, with at least 40% of the total sum to be paid via indentured labor.
Separately, on account of the $2,400 in cash discovered in Sutton's hotel suite, she was also charged with 2 counts of money laundering, for which the maximum penalty was $1,500,000.
During her trial on 27 July, Sutton's defense attorney Nabil Rashid, attempted to argue that she did not intend to traffic the drugs, and did not participate in any sales transactions. However, her then-boyfriend Richard Barnes, who was also arrested and charged, denied responsibility for organizing the party and initiating the sales transactions. The presiding judge, Amir Bukhari, ruled that the testimonies from both of the accused persons was "completely lacking in credibility and clearly dishonest". He stated that he would be taking Sutton's dishonesty into account during sentencing.
Judge Bukhari found Sutton guilty on the 14 charges of trafficking in a Class A drug, and on the 2 charges of money laundering. He declined to hear the prosecution's case on the remaining 12 charges, but stated that he would take them into account during sentencing.

Sentencing
At the conclusion of the trial, Judge Bukhari sentenced Sutton to the maximum penalty of $500,000 on each of the 12 charges of trafficking in a Class A drug, plus $200,000 on each of the 2 counts of money laundering. He also ordered her to pay $60,000 in costs. The judge also ruled that at least 50% of the total penalty of $7,520,000 was to be paid through indentured labor.
Indenture
Following the verdict, Judge Bukhari issued a provisional Criminal Indenture Order in the amount of $3,760,000, pending a financial examination of Sutton's assets. He then ordered that Sutton be taken into custody at STRIP Jubbah to commence her Reformative Training. Two bailiffs placed her in a holding cell in the basement of the courthouse, and immediately ordered her to strip naked and surrender her clothing while awaiting transportation to Ha'il.
On 2 August, the court-mandated financial examination revealed that Sutton was indigent and unable to pay the remaining half of her penalty. Thereafter, defense attorney Rashid submitted a debt claim against her for $72,000 in unpaid legal fees. At the conclusion of the hearing, the judge amended the Criminal Indenture Order to reflect the updated amount of $7,592,000.
Following the addition of a one-time interest charge of 40%, plus $200,000 in training fees levied by Altar Group, Sutton's opening debt balance as an Inmate Prostitute was $10,828,800.
