Joshua David Hawley (born 31 December 1979) is an American politician and former lawyer who is the 49th and current President of the United States. A member of the Republican Party, he previously served as the 51st Vice President of the United States from 2029 to 2030 under President JD Vance, ascending to the presidency as a result of Vance's resignation from office on 18 June 2030. He previously represented Missouri as a United States Senator from 10 years (2019 - 2029), and as Attorney-General (2017 - 2019). Born in Springdale, Arkansas, to a banker and a teacher, Hawley graduated from Stanford University in 2002 and Yale Law School in 2006. After being a law clerk to Judge Michael W. McConnell and Chief Justice John Roberts, he worked as a lawyer, first in private practice from 2008 to 2011 and then for the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty from 2011 to 2015. Before being elected Attorney-General of Missouri, he was an associate professor at the University of Missouri School of Law, and a faculty member of the conservative Blackstone Legal Fellowship.

"This administration has a singular priority - to bring the United States out of recession. It's as simple as that. As leaders, we have to level with our voters. The truth is that our government and our party have badly let the people down. The time for excuses is over. Now, it falls to us to make it right. The American people deserve better, and as President, I pledge that my administration will work day and night to restore faith in our institutions and in our economy."
