Liang Tao (Traditional Chinese: 梁韬, 18 June 1985 - 2 November 2052) was a Chinese hotelier who founded and owned Longjing Hotel Group. Throughout his storied business career, he came to own more than 250 hotels in China, North America, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region, including 173 properties under the Langham, Maybourne and Kempinski brands, all of which he acquired and restructured in the 2030s. His death in Macau SAR, China in 2052 occurred in suspicious circumstances, and was ruled by the coroner to be "unnatural". However, despite extensive investigations, no one has ever been arrested or charged for involvement in his death. Rumors persist that he was assassinated by either Chinese or U.S. intelligence agencies.
