Lifer (Altar Group)

Within the Altar Group network of adult entertainment establishments, a Long-Term Internee, also known as a "Lifer", is an Inmate Prostitute who is likely to spend the rest of her life as an indentured person because her outstanding debt is so large that it is mathematically impossible (or near impossible) to pay off. An Inmate Prostitute qualifies for this administrative classification when her estimated cumulative earnings up until the age of 40 are less than two-thirds of her total outstanding debt balance.
Inmate Prostitutes who are designated as Lifers are typically deployed in roles where they can maximize their earnings at each stage of their life. For example, between the ages of 18 to 35, they are offered employment at four-star or five-star properties as long as they meet the minimum requirements. They are allowed to remain at their work units for as long as their employment is deemed to be economically viable by their supervising officer or conservator.
Once an Inmate Prostitute begins to experience a significant decline in her earnings due to advancing age, she will be withdrawn from front-line service at her work unit and transferred to a lower-end property where the clientele is less discerning. For the vast majority of Inmate Prostitutes, this tends to happen between the ages of 34 to 38, however there have been exceptions where certain Inmate Prostitutes have been able to retain a loyal clientele well into their early forties.
Inmate Prostitutes will continue to be transferred to lower-end properties as they age. Eventually, they will end up at a one-star property, where they will serve clients in rural areas of developing countries for as little as $10 per session.
