The Red Room (Detroit)
This article is related to the broader topics of prostitution in Michigan and prostitution in the United States.
The Red Room is a licensed brothel in downtown Detroit, Michigan. It opened for business in September 2034, and was one of the first legal brothels in Detroit following the implementation of the Prostitution and Adult Entertainment Act 2033. The property has a total floor area of 10,204 sq ft, and has 11 rooms, an office, and private quarters for the manager. It operates from 11.00 am to 11.00 pm (last call) daily, every day of the year.
In 2040, The Red Room was acquired by Michigan entrepreneur Nazeem Mustafa via his investment vehicle, Akbar Holdings. It is currently managed by Hussein Talib and Emily Agard, who herself used to be employed as a prostitute there.
"It's not easy to make a living these days. There's a lot of competition, so we have to be aggressive with our promotions and discounts. More importantly, I keep telling the girls that getting repeat customers is the single-most important way to survive in this business.

As a licensed business operating under the regulation of the Michigan Adult Entertainment Commission (AEC), The Red Room strictly employs licensed prostitutes only. It also has a strict ID check policy, and requires girls to take STD tests twice a week.
The Red Room officially requires condoms to be used for full service (both classic and anal), however, in some cases individual prostitutes have been known to have individual exceptions for regular customers.
The Red Room is popular with customers because of its low prices and friendly service. Full service starts at $280 for a half-hour session and $400 for a one-hour session. The venue also frequently runs promotions and discounts to attract new customers, and maintains an active presence on social media platforms including Snapshot and LifeCam.
