Velvet Sauna (Traditional Chinese: 紫京桑拿會所) is a private gentlemen's club located in the Macau Special Administrative Region in China. It is co-owned by Altar Group and Poseidon Entertainment Group, and is designated as a five-star property within the international Altar Collection. It is the only Altar property located in Asia, and is widely believed to be a favorite meeting venue for members of the Chinese business and political elite.

The property occupies the 32nd to 35th floors of the Altira Hotel and Casino, and has a floor area of over 75,000 square feet. Its facilities include a communal wet spa area, 3 lounges, a restaurant, secure videoconferencing and satellite telephone facilities. There are also 48 guest rooms and 12 suites where guests may avail themselves of adult entertainment services. The entire club compound is guarded by an on-site security team comprised of operatives from private military company Skyshroud.

For members of Velvet Sauna, the main draw is its adult entertainment services, which are provided by a roster of attractive and highly-trained female companions. The roster includes freelance providers known as Valets, and indentured sex workers known as Attendants.

Attendants at Velvet Sauna are recruited from amongst the top performers at Altar's other properties in the Middle East, and are bound by the indenture rules under Yemen's kafala (sponsorship) system. As Inmate Prostitutes, they are held in custody at the Taipa Women's Dormitory. The General Manager of Velvet Sauna serves as their legal conservator.

Admission to Velvet Sauna is restricted to members and their guests only. Each member is allowed up to two guests per visit. There is a strict vetting process for new membership applicants, with a waiting list of up to three years. Successful applicants are required to pay a one-time initiation fee of HK$500,000, plus annual membership dues of HK$150,000.

In January 2031, Altar Group agreed to a partnership with Banque Saint-Germain, giving holders of the Aquila card, all of whom are the private bank's most elite clients with assets under management of at least $100 million, complimentary lifetime membership at Velvet Sauna and several other similar clubs.

Velvet Sauna is widely regarded as the most luxurious sauna in Macau, with rates starting at HK$10,000 ($1,287) for one hour of service with a Junior Attendant. For the highest grade Valets, hourly rates can go up to HK$18,500 ($2,380).

Adult Entertainment Services

Categories of Providers

Attendants

Attendants are indentured sex workers who are employed by Altar Group. They engage in sex work in order to pay off their debts. All Attendants at Velvet Sauna initially began their careers working in Altar properties in the Middle East. The rate for a Junior Attendant starts at HK$10,000 per hour.

Senior Attendants are especially trusted Attendants who have a proven track record of excellent work performance as well as good conduct. They are easily identifiable by their black stockings, and typically require advance booking. The rate for a Senior Attendant is HK$15,000 per hour. The overnight rate is $60,000.

Junior Attendants are available for incall services between the hours of 13:00 to 03:00 only. Senior Attendants are permitted to provide outcall services within the hotel complex.

Valets

Valets are highly-skilled independent courtesans who work in partnership with Velvet Sauna. Even though they are self-employed, Valets who work with Velvet Sauna are required to abide by strict service guidelines. Valets are available for both incall and outcall bookings 24 hours a day, and are able to accept longer bookings of up to 7 nights.

In-House Pleasure Services

Velvet Sauna's signature Classic Course lasts 60 minutes, and is based on the traditional "Dongguan Service" with influences from the soaplands in Yoshiwara, Japan. The service course is divided into four segments, namely a bath massage, a sensual massage, oral service, and full service. All customers are guaranteed at least one climax during the Classic Course, and receive unlimited extensions of time at no charge until they finish. Conversely, if a customer climaxes during the earlier two phases of the course, they will continue to receive service until the end of the 60 minutes. Where possible, they will be encouraged to finish a second time.

During the massage phases, customers are guaranteed to receive either one or both of paizuri and sumata. Providers who are unable to perform paizuri because they do not have large enough breasts will instead perform extended sumata and oral service routines.

During the oral service phase, customers are guaranteed to receive light rimming, a cat bath, and extended deep-throating.

During the full service phase, providers are expected to ensure that customers "do not need to overexert themselves" unless they choose to do so. For Valets of Asian ethnicity (Chinese, Japanese and Korean), there is a flat-rate surcharge of HK$1,000 ($128.60) for anal service. All other providers are required to offer anal service at no additional charge.

Condom Policy

Asian Attendants: Attendants of Asian ethnicity are able to offer both protected ("GFE") and unprotected ("Natural") service. A surcharge of HK$2,000 ($257.20) is applicable for natural service. Each Attendant is issued two condoms before the start of each service session. It is up to the customer whether or not to use a condom; the Attendant may not refuse.
Foreign Attendants: Attendants of non-Asian ethnicity are able to offer only unprotected/natural service. There is no surcharge applicable. Attendants are not permitted to carry condoms on their person, and anyone caught in possession will be subject to severe disciplinary action. In addition, customers have the right to either request proof of sterilization or require the Attendant to consume Plan B immediately after a session.
Asian Valets: Valets of Asian ethnicity offer both GFE and natural service. A surcharge of 15% is applicable for natural service. Valets have the right to refuse natural service to non-Asian customers, but may not do so with Asian customers as long as the surcharge is paid.
Foreign Valets: Valets of non-Asian ethnicity may only provide natural service to all customers. No surcharge is applicable. Any attempt at adding a surcharge or suggesting condom use may lead to contract termination. Customers have the right to either request proof of sterilization or require the Valet to consume Plan B immediately after a session.

All Attendants and Valets are required to offer customers various options for how they would like to finish, i.e. face, mouth, body, pussy or ass.

Selection of Providers

Selection Parades

Selection parades are held in the Gallery every hour, on the hour, from 2.00 pm to 2.00 am daily, as well as at 8.30 pm, 9.30 pm, 10.30 pm and 11.30 pm in the communal bath house area. During these selection parades, all Attendants who currently available for booking are presented for customers to inspect. Attendants may be clothed in shawls, blazers, or other themed attire, but their breasts and pussies must be visible at all times. Customers may interact with Attendants briefly before making their choice. Touching and groping are permitted within reason.

Valets who are "in residence" are also required to take part in selection parades, but are presented separately from Attendants.

Once a customer has decided that he would like to book a provider, he makes his selection known to one of the staff on duty, after which the provider is removed from the parade. Thereafter, the concierge desk arranges a room for the customer, and the provider is escorted to the room by a staff member within several minutes.

Private Selection Parades

High-spending customers may also have the option of enjoying customized private selection parades featuring 4 to 12 specifically-handpicked Attendants based on their stated preferences. Private selection parades are held in VIP lounges, allowing the club's most valued clients to take their time choosing their companions in complete privacy.

During a private selection parade, a line-up of Attendants is brought into the room by a member of the concierge team (usually a "Mamasan"). Each Attendant is then required to introduce herself by stating her name, age and nationality. Customers are able to ask additional questions if required. They are also encouraged to touch the Attendants. In some cases, concierge staff members may provide the customers with "manhood massages" while they take his time inspecting the line-up. After the customers have chosen their Attendants, all other girls in the line-up are required to bow and apologize for the inconvenience before exiting the room.

Private selections can be organized for parties of 1 to 4 customers. However, a minimum spend of HK$50,000 ($6,430) is applicable. This amount may be spent on services, food, beverages and room charges. If the minimum spend is not met, the bill will be rounded up to HK$50,000 regardless.

Advance Reservations

Customers who wish to reserve a specific Attendant or Valet may do so up to 7 days in advance. Appointments can be made through the concierge desk in-person or on the phone. Reservations are on a first-come-first-served basis. An surcharge of HK$2,000 is applicable for each advance reservation. Full payment must be made in advance, with no refunds for cancellations.

Providers with advance reservations are withdrawn from selection parades for the relevant time slots, and are sent directly to the customer's room at the appointed time. Attendants who are in high demand (especially Senior Attendants) can often be fully booked days in advance, thus requiring customers to schedule their appointments in advance.

Online Reservations

Members of Velvet Sauna are invited to download the AltarOne app, where they can make appointments at their convenience. The app contains profiles of each Attendant, including a portfolio of photos and videos, as well as their ratings and reviews. Online reservations can only be made for same-day appointments. A surcharge of HK$600 is applicable for each online reservation. Full payment, with no refunds for cancellations.

Customers are also able to access tablets in any of the three lounge areas within Velvet Sauna, all of which have the AltarOne app pre-installed.

Management of Attendants

Overview of Attendants

Attendants are indentured sex workers who are employed at Velvet Sauna. During their period of indenture, they are held in custody at the Taipa Women's Dormitory, and their earnings are applied directly towards their outstanding debt balances. Once they have paid off their debts, they are discharged from indenture, and released from custody.

Because of Velvet Sauna's status as an exclusive establishment, Attendants employed at the club have an opportunity at substantially higher earnings, and thus, are able to pay down their debts at an accelerated rate. In addition, the conditions at Taipa Women's Dormitory are substantially more comfortable than those of other custodial facilities, especially those in the Middle East. However, the club is highly selective, and expects its Attendants to meet very high standards of performance, service and conduct.

At the end of each session, customers are invited to rate the service they received, on a scale of 1 to 5. Attendants' average ratings are reviewed on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis. Additionally, the club conducts an annual customer survey in which Attendants are ranked based on specific attributes and skills. These metrics are used to assess performance, and are taken into account when determining bonuses, promotions and custody status reviews. In order to remain on the roster, each Attendant must achieve an average rating of at least 3.75, and must also pass the standardized Sex Workers' Individual Fitness Test (SWIFT) every year.

Employment Framework

Attendants are required to work 14 hours a day, from 1.00 pm to 3.00 am, 365 days a year. In the event of absence from work due to illness or injury, a daily fine of HK$30,000 ($4,503) will be applied to compensate the club for the loss of income.

Velvet Sauna does not impose minimum daily quotas on Attendants. However, Attendants who do not achieve sufficient booking volumes are subject to performance reviews. Consistently poor performers may be transferred out to another Altar property.

Attendants are eligible to receive between HK$820 ($105.50) to HK$1,290 ($165.97) per booked hour, depending on their grade and rank. Overnight bookings count as four hours. Earnings are computed daily, and are immediately applied towards the Attendant's outstanding debt balance. In addition, each Attendant receives a welfare contribution of between 0.15% to 0.2% of her earnings, which is directly deposited into her amanat account. In addition, Attendants are eligible to receive annual bonuses of up to HK$200,000 ($25,732) for outstanding performance. The General Manager of the club serves as the legal conservator for all Attendants.

Recruitment and Onboarding

Velvet Sauna recruits only experienced Attendants from other five-star properties within the Altar collection, and applies a very strict selection criteria. Applications are by invitation only. The club does not accept newly-trained Attendants from the Women's Vocational Training Center.

Asian Attendants: Attendants of Asian ethnicity must have at least two years' experience post-Reformative Training, with an average rating of at least 4.40, and with a clean disciplinary record.
Foreign Attendants: Attendants of non-Asian ethnicity must have at least three years' experience post-Reformative Training, with an average rating of at least 4.40, and with a clean disciplinary record. They must also currently hold Category A or B custody status.

When a suitable candidate is identified, Velvet Sauna's talent scouts will travel to her location for an in-person interview and audition. The audition process includes at least one overnight.

Once a candidate accepts Velvet Sauna's offer of employment, she will be transported to Macau. She will be required to pay a departure fee of $50,000 to her former club, and a transportation fee of $15,000. These amounts will be automatically added to her outstanding balance.

Upon arrival in Macau, the new recruit will be transported to the Taipa Women's Dormitory, where she will be held for up to 48 hours before being in-processed. She will then need to complete a one-week onboarding program before starting work.
