Seol Yeon-ji (Korean: 설연지, born 4 August 2011), more commonly known as Athena Seol, is a Korean-American indentured sex worker, and adult entertainer who has been employed since 16 June 2032 as an Attendant at Velvet Sauna, an ultra-luxury gentlemen's club based in Macau, China and a five-star property of the Altar Group, the world's largest adult entertainment company.
She currently resides in Block H of the Taipa Women's Dormitory, a custodial facility for indentured Inmate Prostitutes employed at Velvet Sauna. She has been in the custody of Altar Group since 22 September 2029, and underwent Reformative Training at the Women's Vocational Training Center (WVTC) in Thamud, Yemen, from 1 November 2029 to 13 January 2030 as part of the 29/04 cohort. From January to May 2032, Seol was appointed as a personal jariya (slave-girl or servant-girl) to Kassem. During this time, she was off-limits to custodial staff, and remained in the Curator's quarters outside of work hours. Kassem was so impressed with her performance that he decided to contact representatives of Velvet Sauna to advocate for her transfer. He stated that he did this as a "parting gift" on account of his imminent redeployment, as he wanted to reward her for her excellent service to Jabal Al-Jana as well as to him personally.
Prior to her indenture, Seol was a senior at Seoul International School, and was planning to attend college in the United States with hopes of applying to medical school thereafter. As of August 2029, she had already received offers of admission from the University of California Los Angeles and the University of Southern California.
At the time of her arrival at Velvet Sauna, Seol's outstanding debt balance stood at $3,176,770. Based on her current earnings data, she is estimated to be able to fully settle her balance sometime between February to April 2039.
Career
Personal Jariya to the Curator (January to May 2032)
On 8 January 2032, Seol was appointed as a jariya to Curator Khaled Kassem. As such, she was moved from her cell block into a dedicated quad-occupancy cell within the Curator's quarters compound. Outside of her official work hours from 1.00 pm to 1.00 am, she spent all of her time within the compound, servicing Kassem's guests and servants, and occasionally Kassem himself. As one of Kassem's jariya girls, she was off-limits to other custodial staff.
"One of the biggest advantages of this appointment was that we did not have to worry about being randomly used by staff members throughout the day. Sometimes, after a long 12-hour work day, my body would be so broken that I honestly didn't know how I could handle any more. On the other hand, I quickly grew to miss the social life within general population [in the Dormitory]. On mornings when the Curator didn't have any guests, we would just remain in our cells and wait for work to begin - it got very boring sometimes."
As a result of her appointment, Seol was separated from the other Inmate Prostitutes at Ar-Rawdah. Jariya girls could not access the Dormitory's recreational amenities, and instead of communal mealtimes in the mess hall, they were fed leftovers from Kassem's main household.
For her first month as a jariya, Seol primarily served visitors to the Curator's quarters. Kassem liked to parade his jariya girls in front of his guests, often ordering them to perform humiliating tasks at the visitors' request. In addition, Seol also serviced Kassem's personal staff, including his driver and bodyguard Ahmed Basalamah. It was only in mid-February that she was summoned to service Kassem himself for the first time.
"Sheikh Khaled didn't need us at all. He had two young consorts and two Personal Assistants from the company [Altar Group], not to mention he could take his pick from any of the working girls. When I was summoned for the first time, I was a bit nervous, because I didn't yet know his personal preferences. I just approached it in the same way as with VIP customers - communicate, take initiative, and pay attention to the little details."
Seol's performance in Kassem's bedchamber was so impressive that he summoned her a further three times that week. Before long, she was servicing him daily.
